The Real America was founded by Alex Hawker, a Nashville, Tennessee-based publisher, entrepreneur, husband, and father of two.
Alex has spent years building digital media brands that reach millions of readers each month. He is also the founder of Nashville To Do, one of the largest local travel and tourism publications in Tennessee, which helps more than 20 million people discover the best things to do, places to stay, restaurants to visit, and hidden gems throughout Music City and beyond.
Born and raised with a deep appreciation for American values, Alex created The Real America as a place for everyday citizens to stay informed, engage with important issues, and participate in meaningful conversations about the future of the country.
When he’s not publishing content, Alex enjoys spending time with his family, exploring Tennessee’s mountains, rivers, parks, and small towns, and experiencing the unique communities that make America special. He believes some of the country’s greatest strengths are its entrepreneurial spirit, personal freedoms, strong local communities, and the opportunity for people from all backgrounds to build better lives for themselves and their families.
